Fishing in the Eden Valley

Cumbria has more fishing waters than any other county in England, with the River Eden at its heart. Lazonby Pool – Lido

Lazonby Pool is located in the small village only 3 miles away from Staffield Hall. Located in an idyllic spot next to the river Eden. A community run swimming pool with a huge welcome to all visitors. The pool is 17 M x 6 M and is 2.3 meters maximum depth with a toddlers pool besides. Its heated to 26 degrees in the summer time and is open between May and September.

Brougham Hall

Brougham Hall, just a mile south of Penrith, Cumbria, was built in the 14th century and has a fascinating history. Rescued from dereliction in 1985, today it is one of the largest country house restoration projects in England and is home to an array of arts and craft workshops and businesses.  You'll find the Hall open from dawn til dusk BUT the workshops open from around 10am, closing around 5pm.
